I just returned from Arkansas (Little Rock area) where I met with a few committees and made presentations to some wonderful people. It is beautiful country and the more time I spend there the more I understand their love for that area. The people were highly enthused about our mission and have a genuine passion for reaching the college-age. I have enjoyed my time there and look forward to returning to give updates of our work.
We are waiting patiently for the Lord to provide a buyer for our house here in Tampa. Once that is complete we will be moving back home to Tulsa. We look forward to working with the Park Plaza Church and beginning work on CMU’s Mission of planting Campus Ministries. The past few months have been a joy and a challenge as we walk this path in faith. I am constantly amazed that God would choose me to be a part of His mission here on earth. Amazed because I know me, amazed because I know my past, amazed because I know God knows all that also.
In my reading last week I ran across a poem by Russell Kelfer that reminded me of what my God thinks of me:
You are who you are for a reason.
You’re part of an intricate plan.
You’re a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God’s special woman or man.
You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You’re just what He wanted to make.
The parents you had were the ones He chose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind.
And they bear the Masters seal.
No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
so that into His likeness you’d grow.
You are who you are for a reason,
You’ve been formed by the master’s rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!
